The Studio JLMB is an independent professional acting school based in LE CENTQUATRE-Paris. Our independence allows us to develop a responsive and evolving approach to training, closely connected to contemporary artistic practice, while remaining fully engaged in dialogue with the wider landscape of higher education in the performing arts.

Our pedagogy combines rigour and flexibility, enabling us to adapt our training to the realities of today’s creative field while maintaining high professional standards.

Our students graduate with a strong, practice-based training: equipped to collaborate, to create, and to adapt to a wide range of artistic contexts. Many go on to join leading national drama schools (ENSATT, CNSAD, TNS, TNBA, among others), while others move directly into professional work.

The relationship between artistic research and pedagogy lies at the heart of our approach. Each guest artist is invited not only to teach, but to share the living process of their work. In this sense, we consider the Studio JLMB as a space for practice-based research, applied to the training of the actor.

The Studio JLMB offers an exceptional number of training hours: a minimum of 640 hours per year, totalling over 1,280 hours across the two-year course. This volume is comparable to that of leading European drama schools and reflects the high standards of our pedagogical approach, with between 16 and 20 hours of classes per week.
